PRESENTATION

Specializing in commercial law, corporate law, and intellectual property, Brigitte Nepveu has developed her expertise for nearly 20 years in a major Montréal law firm. Committed to building lasting relationships with her clients, Brigitte assists small and medium-sized businesses and startups in the various stages of their development, from formation and organization to structural optimization, venture capital financing, and mergers and acquisitions, or other liquidity events.

As a business advisor to our clients, she becomes the point of contact for all their legal issues and ensures that the right people are identified for issues related to our fields of specialization. Brigitte has developed a specialty in corporate governance and compliance and also serves as corporate secretary and governance advisor on several private corporation boards.

A lawyer and scientist by training, Brigitte has developed a cutting-edge expertise in life sciences and in technology in which fields she has been representing and advising businesses for the past fifteen years.

A passionate lecturer, she taught from 2005 to 2018 at the University of Montreal’s Law Faculty and was a member of a major law firm’s global training committee for several years.

She has also been actively involved in her community for many years, particularly in the arts. Additionally, Brigitte has a background in jazz and contemporary dance and currently sits on the board of directors, the executive board and the honorary committee of Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal, as well as on the honorary and fundraising committee of Théâtre Aux Écuries. Finally, she is the founder and president of Studios iNovation Inc, a dance and creation school located in Brossard.

Brigitte Nepveu sits as corporate secretary on numerous boards of directors of private corporations and advises them on governance matters.

Member of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and the Honorary Committee of Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal (since 2017).

Member of the Honorary Committee and the Fundraising Committee of Théâtre aux Écuries (2015-2019).

Member of the honorary committee of the O Vertigo Foundation (2011).

Member of the Young Patrons Committee of the Fondation de la Place des Arts (2010 to 2012).

TEACHING

From 2005 to 2018, Brigitte Nepveu taught the “Commercial Transactions” course to undergraduate students at the Université de Montréal’s Law Faculty.

From 2008 to 2012, she taught the course “Valorisation du savoir” offered to graduate students of the Faculty. She also participated, from 2005 to 2008, in the “Industrial Property” course for graduate students.
